Most of the buildings in Emmerich are (re)built in the second part of the previous century. A very, very small part in one of the mainstreets survived the damages of the second world war. Steinstrasse 21 is a beauty on its own.
And again dragons!
Never tell me again that Jugendstil is about peacocks, swans and beautiful young ladies. Okay, partly, but in all the corners of Europe I found dragons.
Why??? What was their specific energy in those days?
I'm looking for an answer in, for instance Theosopy, (which was widespread then, and an inspration for many artists) but the answer doesn't reveal it self so far. Who helps?
